JOURNEY

Around the age of sixteen, I began to panic having no idea in what career pathway I would take. At this age, you either have made up your mind or like myself, have no clue.

I had always believed I wanted to become an Interior Designer, in fact, I remember the very moment. I was only eight, and had discovered the occupation of an Architect, and was absolutely fascinated. It was from then that my love for all things architecture, design, and homewares became a personality trait.

From a very young age, I had an eye for detail and perfection. I thoroughly enjoyed home organization, remodeling, cleaning, and makeovers, my design detailing sprouted. My obsession for perfection was shortlived in high school when I came to terms that not everything had to be perfect and sometimes we make mistakes. It was when I got older, that I felt the need to pursue a career that was globally recognized and respected. The stigma around art and art degrees made me feel like I was not going to be taken seriously.

When I turned eighteen and entered Year 12, I lept at the fact that I can do anything. My love for interior design was undeniable, and forfeiting that opportunity to pursue a career in design would always leave me questioning.

I am currently in my fourth year of Interior Architecture. My younger self thanks me daily, being able to pursue my wildest dreams. I love what I am able to do, to create, to make things beautiful, it has always been what I wanted to do.
